Subscriptions are bought through the App Store or Google Play. Here's what happens when you buy, cancel or switch phones.
When you buy
Your subscription starts the moment you buy it
Everything in your plan - more documents, extra document types and features - is available straight away
Apple's or Google's terms apply, depending on where you bought it
When you cancel
Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, so you can keep using everything until then
Make sure you get a confirmation that the cancellation went through - otherwise you may be charged again
If you switch between iPhone and Android
Apple and Google manage subscriptions separately. Cancelling in one store doesn't cancel the other.
If you buy a subscription in the new store, cancel the old one yourself to avoid being charged twice
