If your business is based in France and registered for VAT, French anti-fraud law limits how you can edit and delete invoices. Here's what that means in the app.
Why these rules apply
France's VAT anti-fraud law (official reference BOI-TVA-DECLA-30-10-30) came into force in January 2018
VAT-registered businesses in France must use compliant invoicing software
Businesses that don't comply can be fined up to €7,500 during an inspection
The app follows this law
What you can and can't change
You can edit an invoice after you save it
Once you send, share, print or export it as a PDF, you can no longer edit or delete it
If details might still change
If you can create pro forma invoices, start with one - you can edit a pro forma invoice at any time
When everything is final, create the invoice from the pro forma and send it
If you need to correct a final invoice
Create a credit note for the original invoice
Then create a new invoice - the quickest way is to duplicate the original
Other restrictions
You can't delete a business that has sent invoices
If you delete your account, we're required to keep your data for 6 years
